Bea returns to painting after retiring from the healthcare field. She earned a BFA from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1974. Later she studied nursing at UT Health Science Center in Houston, and worked in the neuroscience field until 2011. It was then that she decided to return to the studio full time to take up where she left off with her love of painting.
Bea's love of the outdoors, and in particular, of animals, is evident in her subject matter. Her younger years were spent riding and caring for horses, as well as showing them.
Bea has studied under Michael Roque Collins, Catherine Anderson, John Fawcett, and Deborah Paris. She paints in watercolor and sketches in graphite and charcoal.
